Job Title: Local Manager
Cumbria County Council

Description: Reporting to the Manager Integrated Services, this post is an exciting opportunity to manage a team within a locality. The main purpose of the role is ensuring best practice is adopted in meeting the needs of vulnerable children and that the needs of children are central to decision making and that the best for every child results from actions taken. This post is based in Workington.

Key Responsibilities:
You must be able to demonstrate: -

• Relevant professional qualification in education or social care or related area
• Eexperience in developing services with the involvement of children, young people and their families;
• Successful management experience;
• An understanding of policies, statutory guidance and legislation in respect of Every Child Matters and the wider children’s agenda and services.

Location: Workington - Cumbria
Salary: £34,976 - £37,555
Closing date: 5pm, 29th January 2009
